NHDinGeo GIS Workshop

Topic : Implementation of the NHD in the Geodatabse format ( NHDinGeo ). The workshop will be delivered by lecture and hands-on computer using ArcGIS 9.1.

Instructor: Jeff Simley, National Hydrography Dataset Partnership, USGS

Class size is limited to 20 participants per day. You will need to indicate on the registration form which date you prefer to attend the workshop.

Topics: These will be some of the topics cover in the workshop

•  Setting up the Command Bar
•  Navigating the Hydrologic Network
•  Linear Referencing Events
•  Creating Event Metadata
•  NHD Event Maker

Material: Each student will receive a copy of the workshop exercises.

Parking: You will be required to have a parking pass. Fill in the registration form to receive your parking pass prior to the workshop.

Cost: General registration is $20 and parking pass is $3. This will cover the room, materials, breaks, lunch, and parking pass.

Due to limitation of class size this workshop is given preference to state/federal agency and University personnel working with the NHD and GIS. The following organizations are encouraged to participate. University faculty/staff, EPA, USGS, DNR, the U.S Forestry Service, OGRIP, USDA, ODOT (transportation); Ohio Department of Health; and perhaps Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission and their equivalents in other areas. If additional slots are available others can participate to fill the class.
